Craft Creative Kits #1500 Night Table by Craft Products Company c.1974
Craft Products Company, maker of popular clock kits in the 1960s and 70s, came out with a line of Colonial-style miniature furniture kits in 1974. Several of the designs are very similar to The House of Miniatures kits that came out three years later. They called the line "Craft Creative Kits" and by 1976 they produced a 32-page catalog of various miniatures.
The fit and finish is not on par with The House of Miniatures. The literature calls them "hardwood" kits, but the flat pieces are birch plywood. Although Craft Products Company continued offering clock kits into the late 1990s, they appear to have sold out their miniatures line to Perfection Products by 1980. Very interesting collector piece.
Catalog Description: "We believe that you will never find a more graceful, perfectly scaled miniature night table. Its side silhouette is beautifully curved, and its top shelf is perfectly in scale with the whole piece. The lower shelf is fine for doll books, and the upper perfect for telephone or bric-a-brac. The tiny drawer opens and closes. The table is 2 1/2" high and 2" wide at the base. If you sand it well and apply a good finish, you will be very pleased with the results."
